Receive mitigation assistance to avoid massive layoffs or receive emergency
response for your workers if massive layoffs are inevitable
Summary
The REACT program coordinates efforts at state and local levels to implement
layoff aversion activities and mitigate the impact of unavoidable layoffs.
It assists workers who have or will be dislocated from their jobs due to a
business or plant closure, a major downsizing, or a natural disaster (eg.
flood, fire, hurricane, or tornado). For business, it provides industry analysis
and early warning indicators, in the hopes of preventing layoffs.
Requirements
Process
File a WARN notice by sending the following information:
Documentation
No specific form exists for the WARN notice. The REACT Program must receive
it, in writing, with all required data listed above, at least 60 days prior
to the closing or layoff.
